Maury Carter, a past receipient of the CFCAR Wilbur Strickland Lifetime Achievement Award, has passed away.  He was the founder of Maury Carter & Associates, and one of the people involved in assembling the land for Walt Disney in the 60's.  A Memorial Reception will be held on June 30th 6-8 PM at the Countrty Club of Orlando.  His full bio can be found by clicking HERE and is courtesy of Growth Spotter.

On April 25th and 26th, Facilitator Carol Kaptur led a group including members, past presidents and sponsors, to plan the future of our organizations and how to best serve the CRE community in an ever-changing landscape of technology, networking and education.

2022 President Lou Nimkoff stated that, "this was one of the best strategic planning sessions I have ever been a part of."

Participants included  Robin Kesler, Bob Rand, Mary Mula, Ellen Yarckin, Mez Birdie, Carol Tanner, and 2023 President John Wanamaker.

Carol Kaptur (pictured above) from the National Association of REALTORS, facilitated the day and a half session, which was held at the Florida  REALTORS building in Orlando.

Earlier this week, members of CFCAR and CFCREA invited the entire CRE community to "meetup" at the AC Skybar at the new Marriott AC Hotel next to Church Street Station in downtown Orlando.

While not technically a CFCAR hosted event, CFCAR and CFREA invited those in the CRE community to join in for free, gather and share a drink (or two) and help make deals.

CREXi Regional Director Michael Rosenfeld hosted a CFCAR and CFCREA webinar yesterday to highlight some of the exciting new features available to members.

CFCAR and CFREA hosted a fantastic webinar yesterday on Coaching.  Coach Blaine Strickland, CCIM and Beau Beery, CCIM discussed how coaching works and answered questions.  What does it mean to have a coach?  Do I need a coach forever?

CFCAR was excited to kick off the new year with a social last week at Ace Cafe in Downtown Orlando.  About fifty members and guests joined together to reflect on the holidays and plan for a great 2022!

2022 President Lou Nimkoff (left) spoke on behalf of all the members in giving thanks to 2021 President Bob Rand (right) for his many hours of service last year, and was presented with the honorary Past President Plaque and Gavel! After the presentation, the two presidents discussed how much money they save on not having to go to a barber.

The evening was highlighted with the announcement of a new subsidiary called the Central Florida Commercial Real Estate Association (CFCREA), which will allow non-Realtors to engage with CFCAR! 

CFCAR continues to get “Back to Business” as usual with a well-attended Social at the Dovecote Restaurant in downtown Orlando on May 12th. We had over thirty people in attendance. In addition to our Orlando brokers and affiliates, we had members that travelled from Titusville, Daytona Beach, Lake County, Osceola County and Lakeland to take advantage of this networking opportunity. This was an exceptionally charitable group raising $480 from a silent auction for the Steward Marchman Act/ Behavioral Association.
